So Others May Dream of a Future

Why do you relay? I relay simply so others can dream of a future. Everyone dreams… some in vivid color about exciting things and others dream of a simple life. It is your right to be able to dream of your future and cancer seems to take that right away. I relay for a cure so that others may live long dream filled lives.

Fantasy Faire 2015

Welcome to the 2015 Fantasy Faire! I have to first say, this was a labor of love for those who spent so much time and energy into making these beautiful Sims. I took a full day touring through each and every one of them to appreciate the efforts to create a beautiful shopping experience for us in order to promote such a cause like Relay for Life.

Do you know what Relay for Life is? You probably have heard people speak about what it means to relay; however, have you ever really looking into what the meaning is. Relay for Life partners with the American Cancer Society in the hopes of one day completely eradicating caner. The point is to save lives!! I will do my “Why I Relay” post a little later on, but I first wanted to introduce to you what you can do in SL to participate.

We all shop right? The Fantasy Faire 2015 is like mos fairs. They have designers with venders just like most fairs. What makes this fair different is the love and time that went into creating such amazing sims, and also the types of venders that are used. Where you see a Relay for Life vender, a portion of the proceeds that you pay for that item will go to the American Cancer Society. There are several events like this throughout SL every year, but none as large as The Fantasy Faire. Below, you can see an underwater area with different portals. Each one of these will take you into another sim with more items to purchase to help this cause.

As you enter into these lands, I encourage you to be generous and give. Even if you do not find an item you wish to buy (almost impossible) you can find donation stands all around each of the sims. I have included a photo for each Sim that is involved and the Landmark to that sim. Feel free to take photos and share your experiences with us all. You can also join the Fantasy Faire Flickr group in order to see items and to post photos of your own from around the event. Please help share the word about the Fantasy Faire and I hope to see you there! TOOTLES

My Reason for Relay think all of us have known someone who has passed away due to cancer. It is because of this that I relay. I relay for every person that has been lost to such a horrible disease and mostly I relay for my uncle who passed away with lung cancer. I would walk forever in these heels if it would raise awareness and funding to stop this disease from taking so many of our loved ones. We all participate in the Relay for Life event called Fashion For Life because just a small shopping spree can make a difference!

I sit here and see all the crap going on around us that really means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Who is a better blogger or who is a better photographer.. why do I not get picked over this person or why are my photos not good enough for this place. I am not a good enough model to do this anymore or that somehow their views or how they want to look doesn’t fit someones opinion. Look at these small things… and yes they are small! I myself have complained because I didn’t get some designer I wanted or my photo wasn’t chosen in something. The last few months things have really started to settle into perspective. I have had to think about what mattered. My RL of course comes first, but that doesn’t mean that we still don’t complain about the things that don’t go right in the second one. I mean this is the place where we should be able to make things go the way we choose, right? I guess when you think about the reason we relay and then the SL problems…. it kind of helps you see that these things are so foolish and childish. Continuing to cry over things that really ultimately don’t matter…. who needs that? NOT THIS GIRL! soooo… TOOTLES

Help Me Find My Way

I have two major events going on in SL that I think you need to know about. Both of course are near and dear to my heart and both designers I LOVE!

The first of these of course is Cosmopolitan Sales Room which I am slightly addicted to. I have been for quite some time and anyone who knows me knows that I will point anyone there who is looking for an amazing deal on quality items. My shorts here in this photo I have had several comments on and frankly I do not blame people for IMing a total stranger to ask about an article of clothing. I think its fabulous to be able to open up someones eyes to fashion that they didn’t know about before. The shorts are the mini’s and they come in three different colors and are created by [:: JesyDream::]. Can always count on Jesy to put out quality male and female items. I didn’t have to alter my shape at all either which was a plus for me. My shoes are also from CSR and are the Seattle shoes by Essenz. They are a slink add on for medium feet. You can purchase a range of colors if you like. I saw someone this week had an issue with the Essenz shoes being more of a see through type of shoe, but the issue was resolved because the person needed an updated pair of slink feet. So if you find yourself with this issues just go run over to slink and get your feet redelivered. 🙂

The next event going on is near and dear to everyone’s hearts. Fashion For Life Fair is currently going on and another of my favorite designers has a shop there. My top is the Strappy Cream Map top created by OSITO. OSITO is donating 50% of the proceeds to Relay for Life which goes to fund the American Cancer Society. I don’t believe I have met someone who hasn’t known someone with cancer and it is such a horrible disease. For those of you who love to shop this is perfect. You can buy your items while giving to a great cause. The event lasts till June 20th so please take the taxi here and be generous with your purchases! Lets help create tomorrows for everyone!

Spin for a Cause

I rather enjoy my weekend breaks now. I have slacked off blogging for every day to about every two days and I think it has relieved a lot of pressure I was putting on myself. While I get a break, others who are sick do not! I was thrilled to see that Poute was participating in this years Fashion For Life event. All donations will go to Relay for Life which will then go to the American Cancer Society. Everyone knows SOMEONE with cancer… its a horrible disease and the sooner we can find a cure the better. The biggest difference for this years fair is that EVERY item has a percentage of donations that goes to Relay for Life. This Floret hairpiece is a rare item which you can pay 50L for in a gacha. The white and pink are both rares, but I have to say… all the colors are beautiful and worth the payment considering the cause… Poute has decided that 15% of all proceeds raised for her gacha machine will go towards this cause. You can take the taxi here and try your luck. While you are there, you can explore the 10 sims, 150 stores, and play a little passport game to get a few gifts. I know how I am spending my Sunday 🙂  TOOTLES
